Topic: The beauty of mosaics comes from the many different and varying sizes, shapes, colors, and perspectives one takes in when experiencing the mosaic. And so it is with Women Leadership, there is no one size shape, or pathway, but the rich beauty is in the many different perspectives and stories that shape women toward leadership.
Dr. Cynthia A. Bioteau is the 7th president and first woman CEO of Salt Lake Community College, a 60,000 student strong community college accessible at 13 sites throughout the valley and through SLCC Online.

With over 35 years in the education, mental health and business fields, Dr. Cynthia A. Bioteau has converged the expertise and attributes of all three into her passion for accessible and critical education for all community members. Dr. Bioteau has positioned the College as the core of economic and workforce development, creating the five-college national center for biotechnology workforce, (she is also responsible for creating the first associate degree in nanotechnology in North Carolina), leading the recent development of the National Institute for Advanced Energy Training, located at the College, and supporting the creation of the Women's Business Institute to grow and sustain women-owned businesses in Utah, along with the Women's India Trust in support of women entrepreneurs in India. Under her leadership, the College has spearheaded long-range master planning to address Utah's expanding population with higher education and workforce training needs.
Dedicated to community service and collaboration, she currently serves on the Salt Lake Chamber of Commerce Board of Governors, EDCUtah Executive Committee, and the Salt Lake Convention and Visitors Bureau Board of Trustees. Nationally, she serves on the Manufacturing Institute of the National Association of Manufacturing, the Board of Directors for Regence Blue Cross and Blue Shield, and is the current national President of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges. She is a member of RC2020 (Renewal and Change 2020), a selected leadership consortium of metropolitan community colleges across the country and a presidential advisor for the Community College Research Center at Columbia Teacher's College.
Dr. Bioteau's academic credentials were earned at the University of New Hampshire, Assumption College and Lesley University. She has served as President of SLCC since 2005. Dr. Bioteau proudly calls Utah home along with her two adult children and their families she shares with Frank, her husband of 37 years.

Breakfast at the Conference
Breakfast is a complimentary cooked-to-order breakfast from 6:30am to 8:30am.
If you are staying at the Embassy Suites Hotel, breakfast is included with your stay.
For commuters to the conference, stop by the front desk at the Embassy Suites and ask for your “AAWCC breakfast ticket” on Thursday and Friday mornings. You must show your AAWCC name tag that you will receive at the registration desk. You will receive a breakfast ticket that will be good to use at the open buffet located in the lobby of the hotel. This will be the breakfast option through the hotel that will be served as part of the conference.
